This exciting winter programme for groups combines the study of English with other engaging subjects and includes regular visits to the centre of London. Classes take place at Cobham Hall School, a historic private boarding school set in the Kent countryside, with residential accommodation on campus, allowing students to enjoy a fully immersive British school experience.

Accommodation

Residential

Students enjoy a genuine British boarding school experience, staying on-site in bright and spacious boarding houses. They can enjoy the gardens or make use of the large and well-equipped common areas. We encourage cultural exchange by mixing the nationalities of students in their bedrooms*.

All our residences:

  • Are within easy walking distance of the classrooms, dining rooms, and sports facilities

  • Have a designated House Parent

  • Have single or shared rooms (1-4 beds), to suit every need

  • Have large sitting rooms with TVs, sofas, and games

  • Include a kitchen where students can make snacks and hot & cold drinks

  • Provide a personal laundry service for machine-washable clothes

  • Have free, monitored WiFi in every room

STUDENT WELFARE

The safety and well-being of our students is central to everything we do at English Study Camps by Wimbledon School of English.

We ensure student welfare with:

  • Caring and dedicated staff

  • A designated Welfare Manager and team at each centre

  • First aiders at each centre and on excursions

  • An average ratio of 1:8 staff to students on excursions ensures our students are well looked after

  • House parents and residential staff in every residence

  • Level 3 safeguarding training for all our senior managers

  • Enhanced DBS checks for all our staff

MEALS

We know the importance that good quality food plays in learning and development, and we work with the catering team at Cobham Hall to ensure a balanced and varied diet of traditional English and international dishes.

All students receive:

  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout their stay

  • Snacks in their residence

  • Options of vegetarian, halal, dairy-free, and gluten-free meals

  • Packed lunches for excursion days

  • The option to buy extra refreshments and snacks at an on-site Tuck Shop.

Excursions at Cobham Hall

London half day excursions include top attractions, museums, river cruises, markets, and shopping — from the British Museum and the London Eye to Camden Market and Oxford Street.

Once a week students have a day trip to London or famous cities such as:

  • Oxford

  • Cambridge

  • Canterbury

  • Brighton

London excursions may include:

  • Museums & Art Galleries such as The British Museum and Tate Modern

  • Thames River Cruise

  • Walking Tour of Westminster including Buckingham Palace, Houses of Parliament and Big Ben

  • Markets such as Borough, Camden & Portobello

  • Attractions including Madame Tussauds, St Paul’s Cathedral and the London Eye

  • Districts such as Greenwich, the City, Southbank and Westminster

  • Shopping in Oxford Street, Covent Garden and Westfield Shopping Centre

SUNDAY ACTIVITIES

On Sundays students can stay on site and use the sports facilities at Cobham Hall including the swimming pool and sports hall. There will also be an opportunity to have a trip to a nearby town such as Rochester.

On Saturday evenings students can choose between free time or a film show, so they can relax on campus after a busy day sight-seeing.
